HOW TO STAY POSITIVE DURING DIFFICULT TIMES

Not happy with how life is unfolding right now? Feeling sad or disheartened because nobody is supporting or listening to you? Your mind is so muddled up that you can’t think straight?

All this and so much more is happening in your tiny brain, sinking your mental peace daily. But don’t you think you have had enough?  Life generally takes its own sweet time and effort to get back on track, but the best option is to stay motivated and believe in ourselves.

These are a few ways one can stay positive or calm in any given situation and may also change how you look at things.

SPEND SELF-QUALITY TIME

It’s the most therapeutic exercise to get to know yourself. Exploring yourself in solitude brings self-awareness and self-worth.

So, set your mind free and ask yourself -What do I really want? Why is this negative thinking testing my sanity? What is bothering me?

Forget what others say, their opinions, expectations, or judgments- just focus on yourself. Your inner voice will help to clear your thoughts, stabilize emotions, help to turn your dreams into reality, and keep your passion alive during bad times.

Switch off your phone,  breathe, and enjoy the quality me-time for at least 2 or 3 hours daily. Counter insecurities and heal by understanding yourself in solitude.

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE ENERGIES

Good energies are infectious as they hold sway to lift one’s spirit out of the darkness. Communicate or talk with your family and friends – share your emotions, relax, indulge in good banter, laugh aloud with them, or cry a little.

You just need a heart-to-heart deep conversation to drain out all the pent-up tensions. Be an active listener, and enjoy the comfort and connection while talking. In the end, it may bring clarity about the situation you are dealing with. Positive vibes or influence is all we need to fight our inner demons to free ourselves.

TACKLE BAD DAYS KINDLY

There is a famous saying- “Good days give happiness and bad days give experience”. Hard days are like life’s mentor as they teach us about ourselves and helps us to become better and stronger mentally and emotionally.

So, don’t be harsh or critical of yourself because you had a bad day. Allow yourself to fall, show emotions, and accept the ups and downs of life. Instead of regretting, declutter your mind and think about the next steps. Learn from your mistakes, but don’t get stuck at one point. Every day is a new day that teaches us various aspects of life, be it good or bad. So, calm down and trust the process. You will get through no matter what.

NATURE HEALS YOU

Nature is a strong force that heals every unseen wound and brightens gloomy days. Refresh and recharge your senses by spending quality time outside with Mother Earth. Enjoy a peaceful walk in the park or beach alone or go hiking to burst out all the piled-up negative thoughts. Nature guards your soul, soothes the mind, relieves stress or anxiety, improves dim mood, and brings clarity.

UNWIND WITH HOBBIES

Forget all the troubles and worries that are torturing you by taking up a hobby. Hobbies are a great destressing mechanism to divert your mind or escape from reality during difficult times. Gardening, journaling, swimming, pottery, sports, painting, baking, practicing yoga, and many such activities- are some great ways to deal with negative thoughts or emotions. Do give it a try!

CLEANSE YOUR SOUL

Meditation holds the power to bring back a positive mindset to life. When you sit to meditate, even for half an hour – your mind, body, and soul work together to help you relax and bring transparency to your chaotic or negative thoughts. Meditation helps to bring liveness into life. Thus, gradually easing out all the troubles of life smoothly.

So, cleanse your inner self by connecting with divine powers to attain optimism in life.

REFOCUS, RESET, AND RESTART

Don’t stress about things you cannot control, just pause a little and don’t give up on your dreams or aspirations so easily. It’s better to refocus, resume, and level up your performance toward reaching your goals.

Firstly, do things you can manage and plan the task accordingly but remember to not burn yourself out in the journey. Just try not to sink too deep or float too high; rather, create a healthy balance in life -be it career-wise, health, relationships, or emotional well-being, all should be taken into consideration holistically.

SELF-LOVE BRINGS PEACE

Indulge or treat yourself to goodness. It is vital to take care of your physical and emotional well-being. Take a break from life and dive into a pampering session. It may be a long bath, reading a self-help book, treating yourself to a cake without guilt, listening to soulful music, or simply sitting back and relaxing with your loved ones. These things may appear small, but the impact it leaves is substantial to achieve positivity in life.

SEEK HELP IF IT GETS TOO MUCH

If you are struggling to cope with the negativity, seek professional help. Please value your mental and physical health. Struggling doesn’t imply you are failing; rather, it is an opportunity to revive yourself that helps to bring a different perspective on doing things in life. So, don’t consume yourself in self-pity, and better to get help from a therapist, as it will work wonders for your mental peace.

PARTING WORDS

Life always gives you many reasons to move forward. So, stop continuously blaming yourself as it will lead you nowhere. It is better to be constructive about your mistakes and work on them. Difficult times don’t last long; yes, the struggle is tough to cope with, but remember you are a survivor. So, stay positive because better days are coming!

“Deep Breathe- it’s a bad day, not a bad life.”
